With more than 30 years of experience in the music industry, Manusha Sarawan has spearheaded the development of the digital infrastructure for music in more than 20 Sub- Saharan African territories, forging ground-breaking firsts concerning digital strategy and commercial agreements. Over the last 10 years, Manusha has brought Sony Music Entertainment’s vast music catalog to Africa by concluding agreements with African services such as Boomplay, uduX, Safaricom, MTN, Vodacom, and many others. She continues to be a driving force in the pan-African landscape of digital music, working tirelessly to accelerate the digital accessibility of the world’s greatest artists like Wizkid, Davido, Gyakie, Sho Madjozi, and Elaine alongside international artists such as Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, The Chainsmokers, DJ Khalid and many more. Before Sony Music Entertainment, Manusha was Director of Legal and Business Affairs and Digital Business at Universal Music. She has been a board member of the Recording Industry Association of South Africa (RISA), Chairperson and board member of RISA Audio Visual, Chairperson of both the Anti-Piracy and Legal and Business Affairs Sub-Committees of RISA, and a member of Governance and Ethics Committee of SAMPRA.
